Job Responsibilities of the Deputy Director
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and manage the Unisa Music Foundation.
- Adjudicate at national and international music competitions.
- Spearhead marketing and fundraising initiatives for the foundation.
- Manage community engagement projects related to music.
- Oversee the organization of ensembles and concerts.
- Administer and assess Grade Examinations, ACPs, Licentiates, and Diplomas in Performance.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Candidates must meet one of the following academic requirements:
- Master’s degree (MTech) in Music Performance with at least eight years of relevant experience.OR
- Doctoral degree in Music Performance with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Additional requirements include:
- A valid driver’s licence (Code EB).
- A valid passport.
Preferred Qualifications and Expertise
- An international reputation as a professional musician.
- Strong understanding of Classical, Jazz, and Indigenous African music.
- Experience as a music examiner and juror at national competitions.
